Dallas Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones Says Trump's Interest in NFL Is 'Problematic'

While speaking at the opening of Dallas Cowboys training camp Wednesday, squad possessor Jones referred to President Trump'due south continued interest in the debate over racial injustice protests in the NFL as "problematic" and said he wishes information technology would go away.

Jones reiterated that he wants his players to stand up during the anthem and will crave them to be on the field rather than in the locker room, according to Dallas News reporter Jon Machota.
In May, the NFL banned kneeling during the national anthem, but said they will allow players to remain in the locker room in protestation during the singing of the anthem.
In September 2017, President Trump specifically praised Jones' stance on the anthem debate, tweeting, "Jerry is a winner who knows how to get things done. Players will stand up for Land!"

It was reported in July that Miami Dolphins players who kneel during the canticle could exist suspended for up to four games, including anthem protests in their organizational literature as "carry detrimental to the gild."
The NFL Players Association argued in July that the new policy "infringes on player rights" and filed a grievance with the league.
